Мовна актуалізація невербальних засобів прояву емоцій персонажів (на матеріалі роману Дж. Остін «Sense and Sensibility»)

Abstract

UK: У статті досліджується особливості передачі невербальних засобів прояву емоцій персонажів за допомогою мови. Наводяться існуючі класифікації невербаліки та ілюструються варіанти їх мовної актуалізації на матеріалі романі Дж. Остін «Почуття і чуттєвість». Підкреслюється роль невербаліки при передачі емоцій персонажів та створенні загальної емоційності твору. EN: The article studies the peculiarities of non-verbal means lingual actualization in literary texts. Since emotions play a very important role in conveying key messages of the text, it seems topical enough to study them in detail, especially the manifestation of non-verbal means through language. Jane Austen’s novel “Sense and Sensibility” appears to be a perfect material for such a research because this author’s literary works are characterized by intense emotiveness and particular attention to her characters’ inner world. One of the key ideas in the novel is to differentiate the two main female characters by the way they express their emotions, both through words and through their behavior. In the moments of intense emotionality people tend to express their feelings non-verbally and there are quite various ways of doing it. However, authors of literary texts have only language means at their disposal and it is a real challenge for them to convey all the variability of non-verbal means through language making it as real for the reader as possible. Thus, the analysis of Jane Austen’s novel has shown how efficient the author is in conveying non-verbal expressions of agreement and disagreement, interest and indifference, contempt and admiration, anger and contentment, etc., through language means. Such non-verbal means of expressing emotions in the text include the descriptions of gestures, facial expressions, posture, movements, manner of walking, eye contact, various psychophysiological manifestations, and many others. It has been noticed that the primary role is played by facial expressions; therefore, they are represented most abundantly in the novel analyzed. RU: В статье рассматриваются особенности передачи невербальных способов проявления эмоций персонажей при помощи языковых средств. Рассматриваются существующие классификации невербалики и иллюстрируются варианты их языковой актуализации на материале романа Дж. Остин «Чувства и чувствительность». Подчеркивается роль невербалики при передаче эмоций персонажей и создании общей эмоциональности произведения.
